He practiced as a dentist. In 1995, he was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from a five year program of Post-Baccalaureate study of Chinese Medicine at the China Medical University in Taiwan. In 1997 he received a master’s degree in medicine from Institute of Chinese Medical Science at China Medical University. Then he practiced as a Doctor of Chinese Medicine. Later, Richard moved to New Zealand and studied there. He studied with Dr. Joan Campbell, MD. and graduated from Auckland University of Technology with Postgraduate Diploma of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture in 2002. He was a licensed acupuncturist and taught at New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine in Auckland. Richard started the study of Contemporary Chinese Pulse Diagnosis with Brian La Forgia in San Francisco. He studied with Dr. Hammer in his advanced intensive CCPD seminar in 2009. Richard is now the official representative of Dragon Rises Seminars in Taiwan and works as a team with Brian La Forgia for the dissemination and development of CCPD in Taiwan. He has published articles on pulse diagnosis, the application of pulse diagnosis in dental practice and the application of Chinese medicine in dentistry.
